AIB Junior series round 3 report
After a few weeks of relatively little surf Saturday morning brought a decent set of waves for the final round of the AIB Junior series at Laneez and El-tico. The under 10’s took to the water first with some excellent surfing from the veterans of the group Kitty Brewer (10) and Max Bennett (7), Max Bennett found some of the bigger waves to secure first place but it was not enough to take the overall title away from Kitty Brewer who had surfed consistently well throughout the series.
Newcomers Will and Tom Masterman showed some good promise for the future and surfed well in 3rd and 4th place.
Gus Brewer surfed well to lift the overall title for the under 12’s. Gus competing in the under 14’s group managed to surf well enough to get through to the final and secured the points to help lift the overall under 12’s title.
Gus Brewer
Hayden Bishop once again dominated the under 14’s competition to win the event and the overall title. Connor Spence surfed well into overall second and Charlie Rio worked hard into overall 3rd. Adam Barrot rounded out the top 4 with some consistent surfing throughout the series. The Jersey Surfboard Club would like to thank the competition director and Judges for their support and time, and Laneez and AIB for their kind sponsorship of the event.
