AIB Junior Series Round 3
Great surf greeted the competitors last Sunday for the final round of the AIB Summer Series as the postponed under 16 and under 18 events got under way. Ben Bates surfed to a third consecutive win in the under 16 division with Josh Evens and Hayden Bishop in second and third respectively.
The under 18 girls was hotly contested with Megan Vibert taking first place and the overall crown in the series followed closely by Chantelle Coote and Lucy Walker.
European Junior Longboard champion Josh Le Marquand held off stiff competition to take the longboard title with Alex Vibert in close second.
The final of the under 18 event was a spirited affair with Matt Chapman taking the victory and the overall series win with some progressive turns. Josh Evens surfed well in second place for the event showing great promise for his future in the under 18’s category. Alex Vibert’s 3rd was enough to place him second in the overall event.
